Thanksgiving Week!

Greetings!
I am writing you from our Computer Lab where the students are busy working on an interactive website with facts and myths about The First Thanksgiving. Through this site, two children step into the shoes of their ancestors and take students on a tour of the life of Wampanoag People and English Colonists at the time of the First Thanksgiving (the 1621 harvest festival). While visiting this site, children are expected to practice their note taking skills by jotting down interesting thoughts and ideas as they read and/or listen to this information.

Did you know that the 1621 harvest festival lasted three days?

Did you know that the meals most likely consisted of wildfowl, venison, corn, and pumpkin? (And the wildfowl may not have been turkey!)

This site is filled with way more information than can be digested in a computer lab period, so please feel free to support your child in exploring this site more at home!  http://www.plimoth.org/media/olc/intro.html

Be well, and happy Thanksgiving to you all!
